U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News and World Report has released its 2015 Best Online Programs, and West Texas A&M University’s graduate business program and M.B.A. program—both accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business—have earned recognition in the coveted rankings.

The U.S. News and World Report announced its 2015 Best Online Programs Wednesday, Jan. 7 as a resource for students seeking information about online programs for degree completion and career advancement. Only degree-granting programs were considered for the 2015 list, and rankings were based on student engagement, faculty credentials, student services and technology and admissions selectivity. This year’s rankings include a category dedicated strictly to online M.B. A. programs. In previous years, M.B.A. programs were included in the rankings for online graduate business programs, but high enrollments prompted U.S. News and World Reports to give online M.B.A. programs its own category.

Two other WTAMU programs—Online Bachelor’s Program and Online Graduate Education Program—also were recognized in the 2015 rankings.

Online Graduate Business Program: WTAMU’s online graduate business program ranks 11th overall in U.S. News and World Report for 2015.  A total of 118 online graduate business programs were considered for the 2015 rankings and the focus on WTAMU’s graduate business program was its Master of Science in finance and economics degree. Categorical rankings show the WTAMU program ranked ninth in faculty credentials, fifth in student services and technology, fourth in student engagement and 11th in admissions selectivity.

Online Graduate M.B.A. Program: The University’s online M.B.A. program is listed at number 32 overall in the 2015 rankings. Of the 195 programs ranked, WTAMU’s program is 26th in faculty credentials, 11th in student services and technology and 15th in student engagement.

“We are pleased that U.S. News and World Report continues to recognize our online graduate programs,” Dr. LaVelle Mills, associate dean of graduate business programs and professor of management, said. “Receiving this recognition validates our efforts and reflects well on our faculty, staff, students and business community partners.”

The application deadline for the summer 2015 graduate business programs and M.B.A. program is May 1.
